1. How do I submit an event to the Texas Events Calendar?
   • The Texas Events Calendar is published quarterly and features more than 1,000 events. In addition to the approximately 90,000 copies distributed each quarter, the Calendar also appears on TravelTex.com.
   • Submitting information to TEC does not guarantee the item will be added to the listings database. Events should be open to the public and of interest to the general traveling public. Content may be edited for grammar and clarity. Please double check information, especially dates and telephone numbers, before submitting.
   • When information is added to the listings database, it may take several weeks before the event appears in the Events portion of TravelTex.com. Events submitted for use on TravelTex.com should be submitted at least one month before the event is scheduled to occur.
   • For more information about submitting entries or about the Texas Events Calendar, submit a request online, contact trv-tec@dot.state.tx.us, call 512/486-5876 or write to PO Box 141009 Austin, TX 78714-1009.
2. How do I submit information to the Texas State Travel Guide and TravelTex.com?
   • The Texas State Travel Guide features more than 465 cities and towns across the state. Potential visitors can select from a wealth of scenic, historical and recreational destinations. Each listing in the Texas State Travel Guide is also available on TravelTex.com.
   • Communities interested in being listed in the Guide should have:
   • A legitimate tourist attraction or museum open at specified hours. (It could be open only on a Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m., but visitors traveling through the area would know the exact time and location.) Attractions open by appointment only do not qualify.
   • Please e-mail the Texas Department of Transportation at TRV-LIT@dot.state.tx.us to discuss the possibility of being listed in the guide. Alternatively, you may write to Texas State Travel Guide, PO Box 141009, Austin, TX 78714-1009.
   • Currently, TravelTex.com only provides links to Texas cities, state associations and state agencies. For additional information concerning TravelTex.com and how to link your city, association or agency, please call the Texas Tourism advertising department at 512-936-0101
