First settlement in Caddo Indian territory was Bird's Fort on Trinity River; in 1845, a trading post was established at Mary le Bone Springs. About 1876, the town moved to present site when railroad was built through.
Today, Arlington is well-known for fun family activities. City is home to some of Texas' best-known family fun spots like Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, and Rangers Ballpark In Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers. In addition, there's action in the new Cowboys Stadium, the mega stadium in Arlington that is home to the Dallas Cowboys football team.
Tierra Verde is a beautiful municipally owned course on 250 acres of secluded terrain.
Travel to Arlington is easy, as it's centrally located between Dallas and Fort Worth.
