Johnson City

Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park

Region: Hill Country

Best-known as hometown of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Seat of Blanco County, named for pioneer Johnson family, ancestors of the president. Located at intersections of U.S. 281 and 290, less than an hour from Austin and San Antonio. Primarily a destination for Johnson's ranch lands, but it is also becoming known for world-class artists moving into the area. In fact, city is now home to three art galleries.
